Hi, My name is Jill Files and I am the running coach at Life Fit. My aim is to help every runner achieve their running goal, be that running their first five km or their first Marathon. As a level 2 Accredited Running Coach with Athletics Australia, I have the knowledge and experience to get you over the finishing line and achieve that dream!!
Life Fit 13 Week Running Program Training for the Canberra Running Festival starts 09/01/2017. You can chose to train for the 10km, half marathon or full marathon depending on where your running is currently at and what your goals are. Generally, if you are a complete beginner runner then aim for the 10km event. If you can run 5km continuously then you could train for the half marathon option. If you are already experienced and have done a half marathon before, then now could be the time to step up to the full. Alternatively you may not want to increase your distance but want to get faster and beat your PB in a certain event, we can help you do that to!
What does the program consist of?
Initial Run analysis to assess, running style and gait. This is done via video so you can see exactly how you are running and, most importantly, how to correct any problems and prevent injury.
13 week half or full marathon programme advising what training is required each week for the thirteen weeks. This will consist of interval runs, tempo runs, strength training, stretch class with foam rollers and a weekly long run.
Weekly emails advising on all things running, including; injury prevention, common running injuries, post run recovery, nutrition while running and many more.
Closed face book group of other runners training for the same thing. Here we exchange ideas and tips as well as provide support and guidance to each other.

The support, friendship and laughs you get when running with a group. We have many varied abilities in the group and there will always be someone at the same level as you. You never need to feel you will be last and holding up the group as we cater the training for all levels.
What does it cost?
Membership Cost. The program is only open to members of Life Fit. Up until 21/12/2016 we have a special discounted membership for the Life Fit 13 week program of $26 per week (normally $32.30). That is a saving of $81!!!
Run Programme Cost. The cost for the run program is $20 per week for 13 weeks.
